David Levasseur began working at his family vineyards around Cuchery in the Vallée de la Marne in 1992 and officially took over the estate in 2003. He currently farms 4.2 hectares spread out over 18 parcels. David brings a contemporary artist’s sensibility to a traditional craft, and the resulting Champagnes nicely bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, marked by a personal touch. After many years of sustainable certification through Terra Vitis and HVE,David began the official conversation to certified organic farming in 2020. Established by his grandfather in the 1940s and assuming its name from his father Albert, David produces little more than 30,000 bottles per year from solely his own 4 hectares of vineyards spread over 18 plots around the villages of Cuchéry, Fleury-la-Rivière and Châtillon-sur- Marne. These are organically farmed and certified for their high environmental value.
