Accounts Assistant
Job Overview
House of Townend, established in 1906, is a successful family company engaged in the wholesale and retail distribution of wines and spirits. It has enjoyed considerable success over recent years, operating from distribution centres at Melton and in the Lake District.
Duties
- Responsible for the purchase ledger and all accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Sales Ledger – Providing holiday cover for the Credit Controller
- Assisting with payroll and benefits administration including liaising with our outsourced payroll agency, payment of pension contributions, organising of contracts and keeping a record of holiday entitlements.
Requirements
- You will ideally be part/full way through your AAT qualification although consideration will be given to those who are qualified by experience.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience of purchase ledger essential.
