The House of Deutz was founded in 1838 in Aÿ and its vineyards extend over the best Crus of the Champagne region. Formerly known as Deutz Geldermann, it has been run by successive generations of the Deutz and Geldermann families. Deutz produces both vintage and non-vintage cuvée as well as a prestige wine known as Amour de Deutz. In 1983, the house was acquired by Louis Roederer. Champagne Deutz is rather less well-known in the UK as most of the production is drunk enthusiastically by the French, though the house has historic ties with the UK. They make fine, pure Champagne in a style that is dry, graceful and delicate. A silver medal winner at both the International Wine Challenge and Decanter World Wine Awards in 2021. 'I was blown away with the wines I tasted from Deutz this year'. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate.
