Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

A very severe selection for the first wine has resulted in a leap in quality for the second wine at this Château. The grapes for this wine come from the central part of the St Julien commune. A super second wine from a "super second" Classed Growth property.

Aged in 100% new barrels for a period of 18 months. Serious in stature with profoundly rich black fruits. There is a perfumed bouquet of sweet black fruits that opens to reveal firmness and rigidity of tannins and acidity, yet the sweetness of fruit is more than a match for this structure. The very long, almost fragrant finish offers both freshness and minerality.
