Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is owned by the Borie family and is fully deserving of its ‘super-second’ status. Located in the south-east of the appellation the 50 hectares of vines are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Highly sought after, this Château produces intense, powerful wines that are always beautifully balanced.

A very severe selection for the first wine has resulted in a leap in quality for the second wine at this Château. The grapes for this wine come from the central part of the St Julien commune. A super second wine from a "super second" Classed Growth property.
A beautiful Claret that has an endearing personality. Now evolving well, firmly structured, it is elegant but not lean and boast a classic cedar palate with attractive red berry fruits. The angular tannins give a certain sturdiness but, without doubt, a very result this vintage.
Enjoy with roast ribs of beef and yorkshire pudding with a horseradish, crème fraiche and mustard sauce.
