La Croix de Beaucaillou 2016

BEAU515
It is almost unfair to refer to this wine as the second wine of Ducru Beaucallou. The grapes for this wine come from the central part of the St Julien commune close to Leoville Barton. Quite outstanding.

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

A very severe selection for the first wine has resulted in a leap in quality for the second wine at this Château. The grapes for this wine come from the central part of the St Julien commune. A super second wine from a "super second" Classed Growth property.

Tasting Notes

Deeply coloured , a super fragrant bouquet, and a serious core of concentrated and creamy black fruits. Myrtle, ironstone and coffee are encased in a band of sweet oak that slips away to reveal a finish of velvet-like sweetness and delicacy. A great claret that will give excellent drinking.

Food Matches

Enjoy with roast ribs of beef and yorkshire pudding with a horseradish, crème fraiche and mustard sauce.
