Château Talbot

This Château has always had a very strong following amongst our customers here in the North of England - no doubt due to its continued policy of offering good Claret at a competitive price to its peers. A very good wine that will age well.
This is arguably the finest wine produced by this Château this century. Aged in 60% new oak, the bouquet broods with deep, rich black fruits and a smouldering smokiness. The palate is broad, succulent with a velvety, creamy texture and brimming with layer upon layer of powerful black fruits, forest floor and notes of cedar intertwined with the perfectly poised tannins. A fantastic wine with freshness and balance on the finish.
Delicious with beef ribs with mushrooms, bacon and potatoes.
Château Talbot is vinified in a combination of temperature controlled, large, truncated, wood vats and stainless steel tanks. The stainless steel tanks are used only for the young vines. The wine of Château Talbot is then aged in 60% new, French oak barrels for an average of 14-16 months. Yields in 2022 were 40hl/ha.
