Château Kirwan is a 3eme Cru Grand Cru Classé Margaux property, situated in the commune of Cantenac, that has returned to its former glories in recent years.
Surprisingly ripe and forward on both nose and palate, this fine Kirwan offers layers of mulled blackcurrant, a touch of fresh cranberry, a focused and muscular body cut through with fresh acidity, some sweet oak and a hefty dollop of sweet spice and green tea. This will be a medium lived Kirwan that will provide great drinking pleasure in 6-12 years.
A yield of 33hl/ha. The fermentation is cool at a maximum 25°C in order to contain the extraction and showpiece the classic Margaux characters. Aged in 50% new oak for 18 months.
