Pol Roger rich Demi Sec Champagne is a "semi dry" cuveé fulfilling a valuable role, as an ideal accompaniment to desserts, and in satisfying the Champagne enthusiast with a sweeter palate. With hints of beeswax and apricot and notes of acacia honey, this is remarkably refreshing where the acidity cuts right through the heart of the Champagne leaving a cleansed palate.

Champagne Pol Roger

Champagne Pol Roger is probably best known for being a favourite champagne of Sir Winston Churchill and many British Army Regiments. Pol Roger was born on December 24, 1831, the son of a lawyer, who started his own champagne house in 1849, with the first growths released in 1853. Based around the town of Épernay in the Champagne region, Pol Roger is still owned and run by the descendants of Pol Roger himself. The house has a reputation for producing champagnes of finesse and elegance which age very well.

The nose opens with beguiling hints of beeswax and apricot which are repeated on the palate and reinforced with notes of acacia honey. Despite the sweetness it is remarkably refreshing and the acidity cuts right through the heart of the champagne leaving the palate cleansed.
Enjoy this wine with fruit flans, custurd tarts, decent pastry desserts and crème caramel.
