Finca Constancia marks a new era in Gonzalez Byass’ wine business. Identifying a need for modern, fruit-driven wines, together with an ambition to produce wines of the highest quality, the company researched areas where this goal could be realised. In 2001, the planting programme began on a new 220 hectare property in Otero, near Toledo, and a state of the art winery was built using the latest technology, and with careful regard to environmental impact. Finca Constancia represents the new face of Spanish winemaking, with a range of innovative blends and single plot varietals.
A deep picota cherry red colour with a violet edge. It is clear and bright. On the nose it shows a broad spectrum of aromas, combining typical aromas of red and black fruits (blackberry, raspberry), liquorice and mineral notes along with pleasant hints of its time spent in wood, amongst which the spicy notes stand out together with a fine smokiness in the background. It is full bodied, structured and meaty on the palate with a perfect balance of acidity and alcohol and a long, persistent finish with soft tannins reminiscent of chocolate and toffee.
Serve with iberico cured meats.
