Edgebaston

The Finlayson family are symbolic of modern era Winemaking in the Cape region. Founded by pathologist Maurice originally from Inverness in Scotland- his son Walter has taken the reigns and made a great name for the winery winning "South African Winemaker of the year". His son David joined in 1994 - the name Edgebaston wines is named after the birthplace of his mother.
Purple- red in colour. On the nose a big hit of black pepper and stewed berries. Smooth red fruit and spice on the palate with great structure and freshness
Drink with Pizza, fresh salads or cured meats
Fermentation in multiple cuvees of Stainless Steel tanks. A small percentage of healthy stalks are included to add complexity and tannin extraction. Some of the grapes are fermented with natural yeast. Soft pressing is used to allow fruit flavour to dominate. Matured in 2nd and 3rd Fill French oak barrels and 65hl Foudres for 10 months.
