Château Lalande-Borie

This Château was created in the 1970’s when the Borie family, owners of Ducru Beaucaillou, Grand Puy Lacoste and Haut Batailley, purchased the Lalande terroir in St Julien and then added their family name to the property. The Château is situated to the west of Ducru on a single plot of 25ha surrounded by well-known Crus Classés and beautifully expresses the qualities of St Julien – finesse, power, elegance and richness. This is a bargain – don’t miss it!

Very much in its drinking window, this elegant St-Julien offers inviting aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dark cherries, cedar and tobacco. The palate is beautifully rounded, with generous dark fruit, subtle spice and hints of graphite. Silky, well integrated tannins provide a lovely balance and structure, leading to a long, refined finish. A classic, harmonious claret from an excellent vintage.
Delicious with rare roast beef with seasonal vegetables and yorkshire pudding.
To produce the wine of Château Lalande Borie, the wine is vinified in temperature controlled, stainless steel vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tank. The wine is then aged in an average of 30% new, French oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. On average, the production is close to 12,000 cases of wine per year at Château Lalande Borie.
