Château Bonalgue

Originally built by one of Napoleon’s officers on his return from the Egyptian campaign over 200 years ago this property covers 7 hectares with an ideal exposure.
Classic Pomerol, the bouquet is rich, port-like but with a degree of restraint. This Merlot dominant wine is oozing rich plum fruits, with a complex yet robust structure and impressive depth and length. There is a core of mulled black fruits, raisins and prune with a delectable balancing freshness and spice. A deeply big and powerful Pomerol with a long life.
A perfect partner for roast rack of lamb served pink.
Fermentation carried out plot by plot, in small stainless and cement vats with manual pumping over and punching of the caps. The malolactic fermentation took place in barrel. Aged for 18 months in fine-grained French oak barrels (50% new)
