Château Bonalgue is a small, family owned Pomerol estate managed by the Bourotte family, known for its consistent, classically styled Right Bank wines. The 7 hectare vineyard sits on well exposed gravel and clay soils, ideally suited to Merlot with Cabernet Franc as a supporting component. The wines are typically rich and supple, showing ripe plum, blackberry, and subtle earthy and truffle notes characteristic of Pomerol. Careful, traditional winemaking preserves texture and purity, with a focus on balance rather than excess extraction or oak influence.

A dark, glistening black colour, ripe and seductive nose with elements of graphite, cedar and tobacco edging across a wide textural palate of sweet black forest fruits, raspberry coulis and cassis jam. This is an impressive Bonalgue, showing great structure, extract and muscular tannins and balancing freshness.
Harvested 3rd - 19th September with a yield of 32hl/ha. After 100% destemming, fermentation is carried out plot by plot, in small stainless and cement vats with manual pumping over and punching of the caps. The malolactic fermentation took place in barrel. Aged for 18 months in fine-grained French oak barrels of which 47% is new. Alc 13%.
