Louis Guntrum

Established in 1648, Louis Guntrum has been owned by Louis Konstantin since 2003 making him the 11th generation to make wine here. Although they have suffered some real contentious years from the French Revolution to World War II, the current generation are renowned for their high quality.

The soil where the vines are planted is loam and clay which enables water retention. Practises on the vineyard include; reduced pruning, defoliage and green harvest to increase quality and concentration of the grapes. The carefully selected grapes are gently pressed, followed by temperature controlled fermentation in Stainless Steel Vats to retain their aromatic quality.
