Produced within a short distance from House of Townend, this Award winning Little Wolds Vineyard's Chalk Hill White is named ‘Chalk Hill’ after the land type on which the majority of the farm land resides. These are the steep hillsides along the Wolds Way. These hills with a chalky soil type have provided the perfect terroir for grape growing!

Little Wold Vineyard

Market Place Farm has been in the Wilson family for over 70 years. The farm was bought in 1947 by Robert Wilson when the ‘Cave Castle’ estate was split up. At the time Robert bought the farm, it was farmed in a traditionally mixed way. Based just a few miles from House of Townend, we are very delighted to be able to support this local winery as it goes from strength to strength.
On the nose the Chalk hill gives off aromas of hedgerow peas, elderflower and cut grass. It leads to an incredibly vibrant palate the sees the core of citrus fruits takeover balanced with a subtle creamy edge. The finish is long and restrained with notes of conference pear and baked apple.
A stuffed roast chicken with a lemon and tarragon butter or try with a charcuterie platter with Kalamata olives and soft feta cheese.

Awarded a bronze award at the 'MVA 2018 Annual Wine Challenge' in the Dry Whites Class.
