This 40 hectare estate, owned by Jacques Merlet, is situated in the north of the Médoc in the commune of St Christoly. Produced from 35 year old vines and aged for 18 months in large oak foudres, this is always offers superb value for money.
A much higher percentage of Merlot this vintage which is very evident with ripe plum fruits combining with a dollop of cassis. A chunky wine; well structured with firm tannins and a ripe fruit finish.
Delicious with grilled meats, especially rib eye, Chateaubriand or sirloin steak - plainly cooked and partnered simply. Also try it with beef casserole or roast chicken for a Sunday treat.
