This Château is always one of the best selling wines, due to its consistent high quality and the long standing commitment by the Barton family to maintain a sensible pricing policy. The vineyards are intensely planted with 9,100 vines per ha. Aged for 18 months in 60% new oak, this is a balanced and impressive claret, very much in the Leoville style.
A wine of stunning intensity. The nose is powerful, intense and brooding with notes of black fruits and liquorice leading to a palate that is oozing pure cassis fruits, underpinned by a refined note of cedar oak and a streak of graphite, wrapped around a robust structure with perfectly poised ripe tannin. Concentrated and harmonious with a very long on the finish, this is a top Leoville-Barton.
