The vineyards of this château are located to the west of the village of Cantenac. Proprietor Henri Lurton has improved the quality in the vines, regrafting previously planted Merlot to high quality Cabernet Sauvignon.
The nose is expressive and enticing, with layers of ripe blueberry, cherry, damson and a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine shows lovely density and structure, lifted by remarkable freshness. Supple tannins provide balance to the sweet, juicy fruit, resulting in an elegant wine. This is a refined Brane Cantenac that will be approachable young but also promises excellent ageing potential.
