Alter Ego de Palmer is the second wine of Château Palmer. Sourced from the same prized gravel and clay terroir in Margaux, it combines silky texture, floral lift and polished dark fruit with an earlier-drinking charm. The 2025 shows layers of black cherry, raspberry and cedar spice, finishing with refined freshness, fine tannins and lingering notes of violet and cracked pepper.

Château Palmer

Château Palmer is a true star of the Margaux appellation, situated on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. Named after a British officer, Major General Palmer, who settled in Bordeaux in 1814, it is located in the centre of the Margaux appellation, and its vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon 55%, Merlot 40%, Cabernet Franc 5%) lie on a sparse gravel plateau. This Alter Ego opens with vivid layers of black cherry, crushed raspberry and bitter orange zest, wrapped in cool floral perfume and subtle cedar spice. Silky yet energetic, the palate flows with polished dark fruit and fine chalk textured tannins, balancing seductive richness with a fresh precision. Its finish is long, refined and savoury with traces of violet, cracked pepper and mineral freshness that linger on the palate.
Harvest 4th – 26th September with a yield of only 20 hl/ha. Aged in 20% new oak. Alc 13%.
