McHenry Hohnen
McHenry Hohnen Vintners is a venture between pioneer Margaret River winemaker David Hohnen and his brother-in-law and vine-grower, Murray McHenry. All the grapes are sourced from family owned vineyards in the southern part of the Margaret River region. The McHenry Hohnen intention is to shape wines with verve and vitality. Vinicultural practices embrace old-school holistic farming philosophies and biodynamic practices which cultivate an environment where the soil and its organisms, along with plants, insects and animals, co-exist in a thriving equilibrium.
Tasting Notes
This wine has aromas of sweet grilled peaches, and butterscotch and lanolin leap from the glass. Delving deeper, sweet and savoury notes of peanut brittle and wet slate can be found. A complex and textural palate reveals layers of stone-fruits, grilled nuts and preserved lemons. Finishing sweet and long, salted caramel and spices linger.
