Little Wold Vineyard
Market Place Farm has been in the Wilson family for over 70 years. The farm was bought in 1947 by Robert Wilson when the ‘Cave Castle’ estate was split up. At the time Robert bought the farm, it was farmed in a traditionally mixed way. Based just a few miles from House of Townend, we are very delighted to be able to support this local winery as it goes from strength to strength.
Tasting Notes
On the nose the Chalk hill gives off aromas of hedgerow peas, elderflower and cut grass. It leads to an incredibly vibrant palate the sees the core of citrus fruits takeover balanced with a subtle creamy edge. The finish is long and restrained with notes of conference pear and baked apple.
Food Matches
A stuffed roast chicken with a lemon and tarragon butter or try with a charcuterie platter with Kalamata olives and soft feta cheese.
