Château Les Haut-Conseillants

Located in Lalande de Pomerol, just across from Pomerol itself, Château Les Hauts-Conseillants is owned and managed by the Bourotte family, who also direct the famous estates of Bonalgue and Clos du Clocher in Pomerol. Like some of the best soils in Pomerol, Les Hauts-Conseillants lies on a clay/gravel bed mixed with sand. This allows good drainage and is optimal for the following varieties: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (27%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%). They extend over 25 acres, and the average age of the vines is over twenty years old. A green harvest and leaf removal is performed every summer to ensure the highest quality wine.

Tasting Notes

A ripe and glossy perfume leads into a juicy, fresh palate with good volume and a mineral finish.

Food Matches

Superb with a pink rack of lamb.
