Produced from vines that average nearly 60 years old, situated in the Clos just in front of the church in the centre of the village of Fuissé. The church protects the vines from the westerly winds which makes this the warmest parcel of Fuissé. This vineyard was initially planted back in 1927 by the Great Grandfather of the current generation, Maurice Luquet.
This is an En Primeur wine and special conditions apply.

Domaine Luquet Depuis 1878

Domaine Luquet Depuis 1878 is run by fifth generation Patrick Luquet. This 26 ha family domaine is very much in the heart of the village of Fuissé, in the Saône-et-Loire department (7 kms from Mâcon) Indeed the ‘Clos du Bourg’ is situated in front of the Church in the centre of the village. Patrick uses no oak ageing in the winemaking process whatsoever, producing wines that express both fruit and terroir with no interfering dimensions. As Patrick says “We really appreciate our terroir”. Renowned for their purity his wines are beautiful from an early age.

The nose is immediate with lemon drizzle, dessert apple, and a fresh, steely character. The palate is rich and balanced with delicate floral notes and layers of apple purée, citrus, and saline minerality, supported by a slightly softer acidity than wines from the Côte. Long, precise, and complex, this is a tightly structured, citrus laden white Burgundy with impressive finesse.
100% steel tank fermented following which the wine is held in tank on fine lees for 7 months.
