Domaine Grier

The Grier family originally come from Stellenbosch, South Africa. With a true passion for the South of France as well as South African wine, they bought a site in 2006 - this became a natural extension of their South African Wine business.
On the nose fresh red berries and red cherry notes. A hint of spice, vanilla and chocolate adds to the richness. This wine is well structured and has a soft mouthfeel.
Drink with braised meats or Cassoulet
The grapes were harvested at their maximum ripeness to ensure softer tannin extraction. They were then crushed fully and destalked before fermentation at 23-28ºC . Regular pumpovers occur plus 3 weeks of post-maceration for maximum extraction of colour and to soften the tannic quality of the wine. Malolactic fermentation is also applied to add further complexity.
