Esk Valley Estate

Situated in the north of New Zealand's picturesque Hawkes Bay, at Bay View is the Esk Valley Estate winery. Esk Valley Estate are renowned for their elegant and intensely flavoured wines. The high quality grapes are sourced from selected vineyards within the famous Hawkes Bay and the Marlborough regions. Their wines reveal the characteristics from the areas in which they are grown, and are a wonderful accompaniment to many food dishes.
A superb example of what can be produced in Hawkes Bay. Dark in colour, rich and full bodied, bursting with dark fruits and subtle hints of oak. This wine can be enjoyed young, or alternatively left to age, allowing its complexity to further develop.
The perfect wine for a Sunday roast leg of lamb. Or, alternatively, try with grilled, roasted red meats or casseroles.
The individual vineyard parcels were destemmed to fermenters and inoculated with selected yeast strains. Once active, the ferments were hand plunged to gently extract tannin and colour from the skins. After a period of maceration on skins, the new wines were pressed to barrel and tank for malolactic fermentation. The individual varietal and vineyard parcels were aged separately in barrel for 12 months before being blended and bottled.
