Château Les Hauts Conseillants

Located in Lalande de Pomerol, just across from Pomerol itself, the 10 hectare Château Les Hauts-Conseillants is owned and managed by the Bourotte family. Like some of the best soils in Pomerol, Les Hauts-Conseillants lies on a clay/gravel bed mixed with sand and produces a consistently full bodied plumy wine. This is a super little Château that always performs well.

Tasting Notes

A rich and brooding bouquet with notes of plum and cassis. The palate is a delicious compote of red and black fruits, voluptuous and chocolatey in texture with a note of expresso coffee, supported by a perfectly poised tannin structure. Long on the finish, this is a great result in 2025.

Vinification

Harvest 11th - 18th September , with yields of only 20hl/ha. Destemmed 100%. Fermented plot by plot in small stainless and cement vats with manual pumping over and punching of the caps. The wine is aged for 18 months in fine-grained French oak barrels (33% new). Alc 13%.
