Château Langoa Barton

This 20 hectare estate is the ‘sister’ to Léoville Barton and is also very fairly priced for the consistency of its quality. The grape varieties and wine-making methods are similar to these of Léoville Barton. Wow – what a wine! Aged in 60% new oak, this is another impressive vintage at Langoa.
This is the first Langoa to be produced in the new winery which allows for small batch vinification. Deep purple in colour, the bouquet is an alluring melange of violet aromas, blackberry and cassis with a smouldering undertone of oak. The palate is rich and powerful, creamy and intense with a wonderful balancing freshness. The tannins are polished yet firm and there is a beautiful, classic cigar leaf character which adds dimension. This is a terrific Langoa.
We love to drink this wine with a fillet steak and blue cheese sauce.
Aged in 60% new French oak for 18 months.
