Château du Glana is a family owned estate in the St-Julien, situated between Beychevelle and the estuary. Founded in 1870, it underwent major expansion and modernisation after being acquired by the Meffre family in 1961, who continue to run it today. The vineyard spans roughly 40–60 hectares of classic Médoc gravel soils, planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate produces wines renowned for their balance, structure and refined, velvety tannins offering both elegance in youth and strong ageing potential and gives real ‘bang for your buck’!

This is one of the finest Cru Bourgeois properties in St Julien, enjoying a fine location between the towns of Beychevelle and Saint Julien. It has expanded by purchasing Classed Growth vineyards from the 3rd Growth Château Lagrange. The wine produced here is a wonderful combination of power, depth and charm and offers very good value. Now that is not an easy thing to say in Saint Juien!
A deeply aromatic profile opening with lifted notes of cassis, blackberries and cedar wood. On the palate it shows an impressive berry concentration delivering a core of ripe black fruits and cassis, layered with a distinctive streak of pencil lead and subtle graphite, showing a classic St-Julien character. This wine is beautifully crafted with purity of fruit and precision of structure. Fine grained tannins provide a refined and elegant framework giving both poise and depth without excess weight. Overall this wine has the feel of a “classed growth in all but name,” combining aromatic complexity, balance and finesse with the underlying structure to age gracefully over time.
