Purchased by the Sichel family, owners of Château Angludet and co owner of Château Palmer. A major investment programme was undertaken. The vineyards were re-structured with increased plantation density, and the winery and ageing cellar re-built. The result? Well, this property now produces the very best wine you can find at this level. Its popularity in recent years has soared and is now one of our most popular drinking clarets. Succulent, rich and round in style, the palate is full of cassis fruits with soft approachable tannins.
Ideal as an accompaniment to braised beef, a pot roast and grilled asparagus.
The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in large vats, then aged in 30% new French oak barrels for 14 months, receiving light fining and filtering prior to being bottled.
