Château du Courlat
This property is situated in the satellite appellation of Lussac-Saint-Emilion and is owned by Jean-Baptiste Audy. The Château consists of 17 hectares of vines, averaging 25 years and are planted on the slopes of Lussac with a large lake at their centre. From the long driveway of Cyprus trees on your approach, this estate inspires peace and tranquility. Nature is present at every turn, with a large lake at the centre of vines, forest and château.
Produced from 95% Merlot grown on a cool terroir of clay, so important in hot and dry vintages such as 2018. There was no hydric stress at all in the vineyards. Aged in 1 and 2 year old oak and with healthy yields of 46hl/ha, this wine has a beautiful balance between rich and voluptuous black fruits and a fresh, energetic balancing acidity. So scrumptious!
Pair with classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes.
