Bodegas Gótica are a family concern that has been dedicated to growing grapes for four generations. They tend over 100 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Rueda (Valladolid) Spain, in renowned estates such as ‘La Oliva’, ‘Los Obispos’, ‘Valdelamoza’ and ‘Cañada Moyorido’, located at the heart of the Rueda Designation of Origin. The first vintage that was bottled and marketed was 2004. All the wines that they make are produced using their own grapes.
Clean and bright, in appearance, with a straw yellow colour with lemony hues. Fresh aromas of citrus fruit juice and herb teas. Creamy delicate body with an enveloping fragrance.
An ideal accompaniment to Patatas Bravas, Spanish omelette, mussels, garlic shrimps and scallops.
All vineyards are espalier trained, planted with the native grape variety Verdejo grapes. Before harvest, berry ripening is closely monitored to determine the moment when grapes should be picked. Night time harvesting is employed and the grapes are transported in stainless steel trailers, to ensure the berry skins are more terse, due to the cooler temperatures, allowing the grapes to reach the crush pad in optimal condition.
Fermentation takes place at a temperature between 9.5-10ºC.
