Finca Albret

Finca Albret was born in the town of Cadreita in 2002, a privately owned winery with a 200 hectar vineyard. Backed by the Principe de Viana group, its name honors the last King of Navarra, Juan de Albret (1469-1516). The winery boasts modern facilities with large production capacity. Albret wines range in variety and materialize from the union of terroir and winemaker. These are subtle and complex wines. They have become the contemporary benchmark for the “New Navarra”. Founded on a principle of limited production, Albret wines are released to market at their best drinking moment. The cellar and vineyard host the noble grape varieties of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Garnacha and Chardonnay all under the winemaker’s tight supervision. The result is modern, concentrated wine with plenty of fruit flavour, balanced with in fine oak barrels.
The nose has aromas of dried herbs, bright raspberry and cherry fruits. The palate is rich and vibrant with terrific layers of cassis, cocoa and spice. The mouthfeel is rich but soft and is incredibly well balanced. Smooth but firm on the finish. This is Navarra at its best.
Try this wine with chicken and chorizo stew. Delicious!
