The vines are located at the top of the hillside overlooking the village of Meursault, enjoying a south/south east exposure. The name Tillets is derived from lime trees that grow around the vineyards in Medieval times.

Domaine Denis Carré

This domaine was established by Denis Carré and his wife in 1974 with the first vintage produced in 1975. Situated in the heart of the village of Meloisey in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, it covers 12ha in 12 different appellations. Although not certified, the domaine is farmed organically. It has been run by his son and daughter, Martial and Gaetane, since 2008. Full of energy and passion they are raising the quality of wines produced here at an impressive speed.
The style is rich, lush and immediate, highly textured and complex throughout. Layers of tropical fruit, mango and baked apple are centered around a structured core of vibrant, racy acidity and sweet oak, giving the impression of hedonism and sinew. This is a forceful and refined Meursault, yet with intensity aplenty.
Delicious with pan roasted swordfish steaks with mixed peppercorn butter.
After hand picking, the grapes were pressed before Martial and Gaetane Carre fermented the wine in steel tanks before ageing in 25% new oak.
