Château Pape Clément

Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Grands Crus of Bordeaux. His vineyard - the first harvests took place in 1252 - was implemented in the XIIth century by Bertrand de Goth, younger of a noble family from Bordeaux region. Archbishop of Bordeaux, Bertrand de Got became Pope in 1305 under the name of Clement V. This is where the Château inherited its name from and its wine became an icon.

The 2025 Château Pape Clément Blanc offers lifted aromas of lemon zest, white flowers and ripe orchard fruit, with subtle hints of toasted almond and wet stone. The palate is textured and focused, balancing richness with bright freshness and a precise mineral edge. Pure, elegant and persistent, it finishes with vibrancy and finesse.
The grapes are whole-bunch pressed in modern Vaslin presses after cold maceration, then gravity-fed into a mix of oak vats, concrete eggs, steel tanks and barrels for fermentation. The wine spends time on fine lees for added texture and is aged for 12 months in a combination of 20% oak barrels, of which one third is new, along with foudres, concrete eggs and stainless steel.
