Château d'Angludet
Owned by the Sichel family and managed since 1989 by Ben, the youngest of the Sichel brothers. This property is blessed with ideal conditions for producing splendidly consistent wines. The sandy and gravelly soil provides good natural drainage, which increases concentration in the fruit. Careful selection ensures a perfect balance between fruit, structure and tannins. Yields of 40hl/ha this year, the fermentation was carried out in concrete vats followed by ageing in 32% new oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
A higher proportion of Petit Verdot this vintage. This is a stunning wine, laden with cassis and very intense. A Growth Claret in all but name and one to follow. The tannins are very impressive and characters of cigar box and a hint of cedar and smoke give a smouldering feel to this wine. Outstanding.
