Semillon is the foundation of Sauternes, and many of the dry whites of Graves and Pessac-Léognan. It can make a wonderful late-harvest wine, with complex fig, pear, tobacco and honey notes and as a blending wine it adds body, flavour and texture to Sauvignon Blanc. It may be blended with Chardonnay, but does not add much to the flavour.
Skilfully managed by Arnaud de Butler, Château de Trébiac lies on a gravel plateau at Portets, 35 km south of Bordeaux.
This vintage, Liot possesses a brilliant and golden colour, a true aromatic clarity and a rich and concentrated palate.
