The Abruzzo region of Italy is located on the east coast of central Italy. The most notable wine of the region is Montepulciano d'Abruzzo which is produced by the Montepulciano grape and is one of the most widely exported DOC wine from Italy. Abruzzi wines are usually deeply coloured and aromatic, with a smooth texture, highly structured body and ripe tannins.
