The Latour family have long been established in the Burgundy wine trade, having begun as winegrowers back in 1768 in the village of Aloxe-Corton. They create wines from their own 50 hectare domaine, as well as from the grapes which they purchase through the negociant arm of the business. Their wines have lots of character, intense aromatics and benefit from a long finish.
Deep ruby red in appearance, the Savigny-lès-Beaune has an intense nose full of wild strawberry, cherry, coffee and spices aromas.
Powerful flavours on the palate of liquorice and cassis.
A superb accompaniment to rich poultry, casseroles, light game dishes and hard cheese.
Fermentation is carried out in the traditional manner using open vats. The wine is aged for
10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 10% new.
Louis Latour cooperage, french oak, medium toasted
