Château Fuissé

This is undoubtedly the aristocratic domaine of Fuissé. Now under the control of brother and sister, Antoine Vincent and Bénédicte Tuinder-Vincent, son and daughter of Jean-Jacques Vincent. Whilst Antoine is now the winemaker at this great property, his sister runs the commercial side along with her husband, Philip Tuinder. The domaine holds 30ha of vines in total, in Pouilly-Fuissé, St Veran, Macon and Julienas. The wines are epitomized by fat, rich fruit, whose weight is perfectly balanced with a consistently outstanding backbone of tight acidity.

Tasting Notes

Ripe orchard fruit and dried apricot aromas and notes of toasted hazelnut , almond and mineral. The palate has big, rich, concentrated flavors that possess good underlying muscle and the minerality gives a lift and sophistication to the citrusy and mouth coating finish which has good length.

Food Matches

This goes perfectly with the noble shellfish (prawns, lobster and crayfish), white meat, the St. Jacques shells, snails, fine fish (turbot), sushi and goat cheese.
