Château Lagune

Situated just below the village of Margaux and next to Château Cantemerle, this has long been a very popular château. Since 2000 La Lagune has been in the hands of the talented Jean-Jacques Frey who is producing excellent wines year after year.

Tasting Notes

Lagune has produced quite a profound wine this vintage, brooding and smouldering, with black fruits, plums as well as black olive concentration and a touch of spice. There is a lovely blueberry freshness that provides an excellent equilibrium and the tannins are ripe and chewy. Long and persistent on the finish.

Food Matches

Pair with classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes.

Vinification

Harvest dates: 8th September – 28th September. A yield of 30hl/ha, the wine is aged in 50% new oak for 14 months.
