Run by father and son, Callum and Dave Powell, Powell & Son wines are sourced from various vineyard sites throughout the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Callum and Dave Powell employ traditional, minimalist winemaking techniques to produce a wine that speaks of the place that it was grown. Their inspiration for winemaking having its roots in France’s Rhone Valley.
Black in colour, scents of briary berries, violets, roast meat and earth. In the palate it sloshes around with red fruits, meaty notes, black olive tapenade savouriness offering creamy texture and a fleshy finish. It feels unadorned, vibrant, even with its dense, mouth-filling ways.
