Savennières is a sub region of Anjou, making arguably the finest Chenin Blancs in the World. Once thought of as a purely sweet wine region, Savennières now produces more dry Chenin than sweet, with yields restricted to around 20hl/ha, thereby concentrating the intense mineral and grapefruit characters of the Chenin grape, and making this style of dry white age worthy. Sweet wines are rich, luscious and are heavily influenced by Botrytis.
