Little Wold Vineyards Poppy Hill Rosé

LITT020
The vineyard is situated on the chalky hills of the Yorkshire Wolds and poppies would naturally grow on the land if left untreated. Although a weed, their striking red flowers would bring a touch of colour to the hillsides and this is the reason they decided to name their first rosé wine "Poppy Hill".

Little Wold Vineyard

Market Place Farm has been in the Wilson family for over 70 years. The farm was bought in 1947 by Robert Wilson when the ‘Cave Castle’ estate was split up. At the time Robert bought the farm, it was farmed in a traditionally mixed way. Based just a few miles from House of Townend, we are very delighted to be able to support this local winery as it goes from strength to strength.

Tasting Notes

It has a nose that captures warmer times with notes of freshly picked strawberries, raspberries, hedgerow fruits. The palate continues with those flavours but has a beautiful creamy note that brings the wine together in the mouth. Dry on the finish but with a seamless balance between fruit and length of flavour. A perfect weekend lunchtime rose.

Food Matches

Try with a greek salad or spanakopita.
