Little Wold Vineyards Poppy Hill Rosé

LITT020
The vineyard is situated on the chalky hills of the Yorkshire Wolds and poppies would naturally grow on the land if left untreated. Although a weed, their striking red flowers would bring a touch of colour to the hillsides and this is the reason they decided to name their first rosé wine "Poppy Hill".

Little Wold Vineyard

Market Place Farm has been in the Wilson family for over 70 years. The farm was bought in 1947 by Robert Wilson when the ‘Cave Castle’ estate was split up. At the time Robert bought the farm, it was farmed in a traditionally mixed way. Based just a few miles from House of Townend, we are very delighted to be able to support this local winery as it goes from strength to strength.

Tasting Notes

The 2020 Rose is the ultimate Summer sipper. The nose is bursting with strawberry, clotted cream and fresh redcurrant. The palate is bursting with red berry fruits with hints of blueberry, wild raspberry and a touch of lime zest. Refreshing, juicy and some incredibly drinkable.

Food Matches

Halloumi and roasted pepper kebabs, lamb koftas with harissa yoghurt dip or a fresh pea and mint frittata
