Château Puy Blanquet

Château Puy Blanquet is located within Pomerol's neighbouring appellation, Saint-Emilion. The Merlot dominated Puy-Blanquet wines benefit from amazing vine age. The chateau grows 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon on clay and chalk soil. They also follow environmnetally friendly winemaking practices.

Tasting Notes

Good colour, deep and inviting - the nose is medium pronounced with hints of herns, cassis and pencil shavings very typical for the region. The palate is full and rounded, quite creeamy with black fruits and a touch of cigar and spice.

Food Matches

Keep it simple and enjoy with lamb cutlets and a little garlic butter.
