Château Bellegrave

Château Bellegrave lies in the south of Pauillac, surrounded by plots of the greatest classified growths, including Chateau Latour, Pichon Baron and Lynch Bages. The historic property was owned by the Van-Der-Voort family until 1997, when Jean-Paul Meffre purchased the estate. Since that time, the Meffre family has invested heavily to restore the property, upgrade the cellars, and acquire additional vineyard. The Château and cellars and the lion’s share of the 21 acres of the vineyards are located just south of the town of Pauillac. 7.5 acres are located in Artigues, next to Grand-Puy-Lacoste. All of the vineyard is planted on the deep gravel deposits for which the area is known, and from which the estate derives its name.

Tasting Notes

This is a lovely wine with rich blackcurrant fruits, sweet plums and great balance. A brilliant Pomerol, very popular as it gives some real value to the drinker.

Food Matches

We love to drink this wine with beef bourgignon.
