Matias Morcos

Matias is an enthusiastic young winemaker leading his family wine business in its third generation. Founded in 1950 by Lebanese immigrants, who bought a Vineyard with vines planted 70 years prior. The focus pre-Matias was the production of bulk wine for the booming domestic market, where consumption quadrupled. Matias made it his personal mission to produce exceptional quality wines; using old Pergola trained vines, restoring the 100-year-old winery and refurbishing and dividing old concrete tanks for small batch production. The Vineyard’s are located in East Mendoza, with altitudes ranging from 600-1,100 metres above sea level.
A nose of the freshest red fruit; Strawberries, cherries balanced with slight earthiness. On the palate some dried herbs accompany the red fruit. Soft mouthfeel with juicy acidity. A long refreshing finish.
Drink with Pork ragu or tomato based sauce
Made like a traditional red, but lower temperatures than usual to retain freshness of the fruit.
