The small Grand Cru of Combes sits on the South Western slope of the mighty Corton Hill, with steep slopes of red oxidised clay and thin soils. The vines were planted in 1990 using 161-49 rootstock, and recent diseases have shown a propensity to die and need replanting, hence the yield of this wine was reduced to just 35hl/ha in 2022.
This is an En Primeur wine and special conditions apply.

Domaine Tollot-Beaut

Domaine Tollot-Beaut was one of the first domaine to bottle its own wines back in 1921 when most growers simply sold their wines to the local negociants, and it has retained its ground breaking ethos to the present day. Under the meticulous control of Natalie Tollot, 5th generation, the domaine currently comprises some 24 hectares of vines, spread over a number of different sites in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Corton including small holdings in premiers and grands crus. Each wine produced is respectful of its terroir and perfectly represents the characteristics of the appellation.
Wow - and WOW again! A rich, concentrated and deeply hedonistic red, showing power, expression, poise and an intensity that makes you wonder if this isn't a wine of the vintage. Simply outstanding Grand Cru a – a shame there wasn't more of it made!
