One of the many variants of Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Précoce is a grape which originates from France, but mainly grown in Germany under the synonym Frühburgunder. Pinot Noir Précoce is a form or mutation of Pinot Noir, meaning that the difference between Pinot Noir wines and Pinot Noir Précoce wines is almost always indistinguishable. Known for its blue-black skin and tight bunching, the grapes tend to ripen early and make wines with a slightly fuller flavour, lower acidity and a drier tannin structure.
