Occasionally used in the production of some Champagnes, Meslier is more often than not a grape used for blending due to its ability to retain acidity even during hot vintages. When Meslier is not blended, however, the wines produced are often crisp and have a distinct apple flavour. There are very few regions in the world which mainly produce Meslier, one of which is a small French vineyard of only 20 hectares.
